Make sure you have a recent version of Plex server running on the mini. Remember also that home sharing still works in older versions of iTunes, so if you have it set to open iTunes on your file server, you should be able to connect from Apple Music on your M1 without using file sharing. Double-click this file to mount the server and test.

It is available not only for Windows and Mac but also Linux, Android and iOS. Kodi’s open-source nature means it is very flexible and platform-independent. Just like Plex, it automatically retrieves metadata for your archived media. Highlight the text and drag it to the desktop to create a url file. Kodi is an open-source project and is widely popular amongst power users.

You can force one or the other by creating a url like afp://10.0.1.10 or SMB://10.0.1.10 in TextEdit. Then make sure you are consistently mounting it the same way between reboots. Set your mini to restart every day (at like 4 in the morning or something) from Energy Saver prefs in case a sharing-related process is crashing. #DELETE MUSIC IN PLEX FOR MAC MOVIE#
Is there something that I can do to prevent this from happening? or is this some kind of bug? I'm running the latest Monterey in both machines and both are connected to the same router (LAN) if this is useful. If you have watched a movie and are unlikely to want to watch it again, you can delete it in much the same way as you move, add. So far the only solution that I've found is to restart my Macbook, and somehow all my libraries work great again. I've manually reproduced this problem disconnecting my Macbook from my mini, and after reconnecting (even though I can normally see and manipulate my files in finder) the problem with my Apple Music and Plex appears. The exact same problem is happening in my Plex library, it won't find the file. I've activated the file share option and it runs great I can see my files in my Macbook M1 (my main computer) without much trouble and connect to it over shared desktop.īut I have a couple of small problems, sometimes even though I can see and manipulate the files and folders from my Mini in finder, the network path of some folders/files seem to have lost reference in some softwares, for example my Apple Music library is reading all the music files from my mini through a network folder and when I try to play one of them it says that it can't find the original file, and gives an option to locate it.

Hello I have an old Mac Mini (2014) running as my home server (it has a couple of external disks over usb) all my files are there.
